Part of our three-fold ministry is to provide job skills and work experience to those required to work for their public assistance benefits.  The Sewing Room is just one location in our building where this ministry and training take place, specifically with expectant mothers.  There are few work opportunities available for pregnant women, and we are proud to offer these women a safe place to work, while they are also mentored by Christian volunteers who teach the sewing skills.

Handcrafted items made in the sewing room include quilts, dishcloths, and rugs– many of which are made from “re-purposed materials”. If you are looking for a unique, handmade, and earth-friendly gift, visit Showroom II in the Gateway building where all these items are sold.  All proceeds from Sewing Room sales benefit the ministries of Community Helping Hands.
